Emmett Foster Hartley was born on Feb. 16, 1921 in Athens County, Ohio. His parents are Floyd Olan and Edna L Dailey Hartley. On Sept. 23, 1942 Emmett enlisted in World War II, Navy branch. He was discharged Nov. 5, 1945. When he came back, he resided in Virginia for a short time. There he met Margaret Creasy. The two married and had a daughter, Ettiebelle, in May of 1948. They divorced and he met Zinnia Savannah Hall. They married, moved to Ohio, and had several children. They are Cindy, Linda, Debbie, Dianne, Floyd, Dennis, Mark, and Eddie. Emmett passed away on Jan. 22, 1998.
