Mrs. Sarah Doty, 83, a resident of Champaign for approximately 38 years, died at 5 a.m. today in the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Duane C. Parris 203 1/2 West Maple street, Champaign, following an extended illness.

Arrangements for funeral services, in charge of Owens funeral home, are incomplete pending word from granddaughter, Ruby J. Reimers, seaman first class, on naval service in Washington, D. C. Burial is to be in Philo cemetery.

Born in Senecaville, Ohio, July 19, 1862, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hartford, Mrs. Doty was married to W. H. Ramler. They and their only daughter, Mrs. Parris, made their home in Champaign. Mr. Ramler died in 1917. Mrs. Doty's second husband, Joseph Doty, is also dead.

Besides he daughter and Seaman Reimers, Mrs. Doty leaves one brother, John Hartford, in Seattle, Wash., and three other grandchildren, Dorothy Parris and Betty Parris, in Champaign, and Duane Parris, Jr., a seaman first class stationed with the navy in Manila.
