Obituary for Altie Adie
Mrs. Altie Adie,69, Clallam County Pioneer, widow of the late Charles Adie, died at Tacoma last Friday after a short illness and was buried beside her husband at Auburn Monday after funeral services at the Presbyterian Church there. The late Mrs. Adie had been in California for the past six months and on the return trip stopped at Olympia to visit a daughter, Miss Ora Adie, early last week, then went to her home at Auburn where she was taken ill with pneumonia. She was removed to Tacoma where she succumbed to the illness.
Mrs. Adie was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Hart and came to Port Crescent more than sixty years with her parents who lived on the old Hart Homestead there. She was married to Charles Adie in December 1884 and Mr Adie died July 1924. The family home was in Auburn where Mrs. Adie lived for thirty five years. She was born in Ohio, October 11, 1867.
There are four children, Mrs. Mary Pollow and Mrs. Altie Hughes, of Seattle, Miss Ora Adie of Olympia and Charles Adie, Jr., Sioux City, Iowa. Surviving also are three brothers: Homer Hart, Issaquah; Howard Hart, Freshwater; and Fitch Hart of Port Angeles; one sister, Mrs. Tom Bayton of Port Angeles.
