Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and many friends and neighbors during his near to fifty years residence in the community assembled in the congregation for the last rites. Mr. Hart many years ago affiliated with the Free Methodist church, and Rev. E.A. Wolfe, pastor of the Free Methodist congregation, preached an impressive burial sermon. Many beautiful floral emblems were placed about the casket and alter. Burial was in Mentor cemetery.
Norman Hart was born March 22, 1859, in the province of Ontario, Canada. He grew to young manhood in the vicinity of Colburn, Ontario, were, on September 25, 1877, he was united marriage to Mary G. Gaffield. In 1886, this young couple moved to a homestead east of Humbird. After several years they established their home northeast of the village now occupied by their son Harry. In 1901, Mr. Hart purchased the meat market in Humbird, which business he operated until 1913, when he retired. He resided in the village until his death, April 29, 1935, at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 7 days.
