HINTON- Services for Clovis Harris, 77, of Hinton will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Hinton-Turner Funeral Chapel with Rev. Elbert Isley and Rev. Carson Snow officiating.
Harris was born Oct. 14, 1918 in Madill to Oscar and Beulah (Wooten) Harris and died Tuesday at his home in the Cedar Lake community near Hinton.
He was preceded in death by his father and his first wife, Mildred.
Harris was raised and lived most of his life in the Madill area. He was united in Marriage to Mildred Imogene Everett April 19, 1941 in Madill. He later married Wilma (Sweet) Canary May 24, 1982 In Oklahoma City. He lived in Woodward for two years before moving to the Cedar Lake community where he had lived for the past five and a half years.
He was a painter most of his life and enjoyed refinishing furniture. In May 1995 Harris gave his heart to the Lord.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Patricia Mataya of Minco and Scheryl Kennard of Yukon; one stepdaughter, Rita Landsberger of Blanchard; one stepson, David Canary of Norman; four grandchildren, Tony Allen Kennard of Alaska, Kimbra McKinley of Tennessee, Shelly Butler of Marysville, Kan. And Mark Mataya of Minco; four step grandchildren, Timothy Ford of Missouri, Christy Lansberger of Blanchard and Misty and Mark Canary of Norman; five great-grandchildren, Joseph Shane and Drenda Nicole Butler of Marysville, Maranda Railynn Mataya of Minco, Toni Raquel Kennard of Yukon and Tiffany Kay Kennard of Texas; two step great-grandchildren, Kyle and Tyler Ford of Branson, Mo.; his mother, Beulah Thompson of Oklahoma City and two brothers, Darrell Oscar and Arvel Leo Harris , both of Oklahoma City.
Burial will be in the Hazel Dale Cemetery under the direction of the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home of Hinton.
