Patsy P. Danko, 96, formerly of Snow Shoe, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Oakwood Care Center in Middle River, MD.
Born on April 11, 1917, in Snow Shoe, she was the daughter of the late Bernice Harnish. In1936, she married Joseph S. Danko, who passed away on August 6, 1993.
Patsy attended the Snow Shoe High School. She was a member of the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence. She was a homemaker and a care giver to her disabled daughter, Joann.
Patsy lived through an amazing time in history spanning two world wars, the great depression, radio, television and computers. She lived by example, always thinking and caring for others above herself and never complaining about hardships that life brought her way. Despite the hardships, Patsy led a life full of family and friends. Her home was a frequent stop for great conversation, laughter and of course home cooking.
Patsy was recognized for selling the most US Savings bonds in the area in 1942. While her children were in school, she was president of the PTA. When she was 82, Patsy flew for the first time to Florida so she could go to Disney World with her grandchildren. Once she found out that flying wasn't so bad, she made many trips to Florida, mostly for Christmas.
Patsy is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Pondo and her husband, Eugene of Middle River, MD; one grandson, Robert Pondo and his wife, Sheila of Tampa, FL and two great grandchildren, Alison and Jessica Pondo.
Along with her parents and husband, Patsy was preceded in death by two daughters; Ann and Joann
