Hazel Attig, age 96, died Saturday, January 28, 1995, at the Lone Tree Health Care Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 31, at the United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ann Rouse officiating. A Rebekah service was held Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Sorden’s Funeral Home. Burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Sorden’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
A General Memorial has been established.
Hazel Attig was born August 26, 1898 in West Liberty to parents William and Nancy (Seamon) Harned.
She married Emora G. Attig on December 25, 1916 in West Liberty, Iowa.
Hazel was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of Lone Tree Rebekah’s and Women’s Relief Corps.
She is survived by one daughter, Gladys Krueger of Lone Tree, and a sister, Nettie Fox of Muscatine, also seven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, three brothers and four sisters.
Pallbearers were Ron Krueger, Duane Krueger, Alan Krueger, Dwight Krueger, Kurt Krueger and Larry Attig.
