She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dorsey Caudell in 1989. She is survived by her devoted four daughters, Juanita Clark (Virgil) of Tucker, GA, Freda Ellis of Lawrenceville, GA, Rita Jordan (George) of Kingsport, TN, and Pamela Harris of Lawrenceville, GA; 11 grandchildren, Bill Ellis, Debbie Willis, Yvette Austin, Chris Jordan, Jeffrey Clark, Gregory Clark, Jonathan Clark, Damon Harris, Millicent Henson, Aysa Jackson and Susannah Sanders; 18 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; brother, Early Hannah, Jr. of Lawrenceville, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Caudell was also preceded in death by 2 wonderful sons-in-law, Frank Ellis and Curtis Harris, 6 siblings, Hubert Hannah, Jewell Davis, Bernice Graham, Dorothy Henson, Christine Davis and Betty Elkins; mother, Debbie Sylvester Beaty Hannah, and father, Early Hannah, Sr.
Dovie Frances Hannah Caudell was born on October 29, 1915 in Buford, Georgia. She married Hugh Dorsey Caudell in March of 1937. She was a devoted wife, mother grandmother, sister and loving friend. She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and many friends. Mrs. Caudell was a devoted member at Collins Hill Baptist Church where her husband had served as a Deacon. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially all of her grandchildren, and the fellowship of her church family.
Mrs. Caudell, known for her famous delicious Sunday dinners, cooked the best cakes and Thanksgiving Dressing. This caring, loving, southern lady will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The Service Honoring the Life of Mrs. Dovie Caudell will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Buddy Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.at the funeral home.
