SYLVESTER — Mr. Patrick Hammond, 66, of Albany, GA passed away on November 13, 2009 at his daughter's residence.
Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Georgia Veterans Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.
Mr. Hammond was born on October 13, 1943 in Celina, OH (Mercer County) to the late Bernard LeRoy Hammond and the late Treola Dennings Hammond. He lived in Dougherty and Worth Counties for most of his life and was employed with the MCLB in Albany, GA. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam. Patrick was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed reading his Bible and was a member of Berea Full Gospel Church in Albany.
Mr. Hammond is survived by his wife, Sandra Diane Duckworth Hammond of Albany, GA; his son, Eric Lamar Hammond of Doerun, GA; his daughter, Angela Brown and her husband Myron of Sumner, GA; his step-children: Shelby Varnadoe and her husband Robby, Sylvia Estevez and her husband Shane, William Cosby and his wife Rebecca, and Jewel Amos and her husband Nathan; his grand-daughter, Rebecca Rene Fletcher; his step-grandchildren, Matthew Brown and a number of other step-grandchildren; his sisters, Vickie Thompson (Cliff) and Sandra Hickman, both of St. Mary's, OH; and his brother, Bruce Hammond (Melinda) of Wabash, OH. In addition to his parents Mr. Hammond was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Martin Fletcher.
