Funeral service for Billy Sue (Inklebarger) Halvorson, 64, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (formerly of Blanchard, OK), will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at the Fletcher Christian Church with Herman Dutton, officiating. Burial will follow at the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
She passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Billy Sue Halvorson was born May 27, 1952 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to E.F. and Patsy Ann (Sessums) Inklebarger. She attended schools in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and Gillette, Wyoming where she graduated High School on May 24, 1970. Billy was a technical specialist 28 plus years for American Fidelity Assurance Company. Billy married Steven Mark Halvorson on September 20, 1970 at the First Lutheran Church in White Earth, ND. Her son Mark Lee Halvorson was born from this union. Billy had many hobbies including shopping, crafts, reading, travelling (especially to Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and the Dakotas), collecting: dolls, Betty Boop, Harley Davidson, peace signs, USA (red, white, and blue), and other memorabilia. Over the last several years, she enjoyed wine tasting trips with her “Wine Besties”. Billy was a wonderful and caring daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and co-worker and will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have known her.
Billy is survived by her son, Mark Lee Halvorson and his wife Callie, of Canton, OH; 5 grandchildren: Nicole, Morgan, Jessica, Thomas, and Nicolas; 1 great grandchild, Roman; 3 sisters: Debbie Hoyt, of Sun City, AZ, Pam Shiflett and her husband Steve, of Fletcher, OK, and Terrie Rowe and her husband Ray, of Oklahoma City, OK; 1 sister in law, Pam Walters, of Williston, ND; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and co-workers; and her beloved dog, Phantom.
She was preceded in death by her parents: E.F. and Patsy Ann Inklebarger; grandparents: Elmo and Ona Sessums and William and Misper Inklebarger; father and mother in law, Kenneth and Joyce Halvorson; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her beloved dog Bandit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation or the American Dog Rescue Foundation.
