He was a lifelong resident of the Tacoma area. He was president and member of the board of Burkhart Dental Supply.
Mr. Halsan was a member of the Tacoma Elks Lodge, the YMCA, the Pacific West Sport & Racquet Club and the Day Island Yacht Club.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne M.; four sons, Christopher M., Carl E., Curt L. and Craig L., all of Gig Harbor; his mother and stepfather, Violet and Emmett Johnson of Allyn on Hood Canal; a sister, Susan M. Halsan of Enumclaw; and a stepbrother, John Johnson in Alaska.
