Mrs. Anna Hald, widow of the late Gus Hald, died this morning in the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Charles Hald, 2107 West Division. She had been in failing health for the past two years. Death was attributed to a heart condition. The family home is at 1018 West Fourth.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 0'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Livingston-Sondermann funeral home by the Rev. William A. Hubbard, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial will be in the Grand Island cemetery.
Mrs. Hald was born at Louise, Canada, on June 30, 1881, to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Matousek. When she was a child of three years, the family came to St. Paul where Mrs. Hald grew to womanhood. In September of 1901, she and Gus Hald operated a pharmacy in St. Paul for many years and then came to Grand Island where he practiced his profession. In 1919, the family moved to Phillips, where Mr. Hald operated a drug store. In 1927, the family returned to Grand Island. Mr. Hald died here on Oct. 13, 1937. Mrs. Hald was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Golden Rod camp.
She is survived by two sons, Edmund F. Hald and Charles A. Hald, both of Grand Island; two daughters, Miss Helen Hald, Washington, D. C. and Miss Marjorie Hald, Grand Island; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Talley, Grand Island, and Mrs. Frances Hall, Washington, D. C. and four grandchildren. Her husband and her parents preceded her in death.
