Dorothy was born April 16, 1925, in Ionia, the daughter of Edward and Helen (Dennison) Haight. She married Joseph Cross on April 27, 1943. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1986.
She spent most of her life in the Owosso area, moving to Coldwater to be closer to her faimly. She was a very devout Catholic woman, graduating from St. Peter and Paul Catholic School and was very active at St. Paul Catholic Church in Owosso. Dorothy was a wife, mother and homemaker; she enjoyed helping on the family farm and raising some of the animals. She enjoyed reading, crosswords and watching old movies, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors included: her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Dorothy Cross of Coldwater; four granddchildren, David (Trish) Cross, Marlene Cross , all of Kansas City, Mo., Michael (Pam) Cross of Fremont, Ind., Steven (Jacky) Cross of Kalamazoo; four great-grandchildren, Kayla Puthoff, Talulah and Jackson Cross, Penelope Cross; and sister-in-law, Helen Morrison of Saranac.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers and their wives, Howard and Marion and Irvin and Jeanne Haight.
