ALICE MARIE HAGOOD, 84, of Alvin, Texas passed away on April 3, 2010 in Webster, Texas. She was born May 7, 1925 in Arkansas, Kansas to Henry Rudolph and Rose (Drozda) Koepke. Her biggest love was her family, she was so proud of her children and grand-children. Alice was a proud member of the First Presbyterian Church of Alvin and an educator for over 30 years for Alvin Community College. While an Algebra teacher at Alvin Community College, she often started her classes off with a little story about her sons. She just couldn't say enough about them. It seems like everywhere she went, she always ran into someone that had her as a teacher. She helped so many students get through Algebra in college even if it meant tutoring until they understood it. She was always there to help. Some of Alice's ex-students mostly remember her by her yellow corvette she used to drive around town in. Her CB handle was the "yellow canary".
Alice was an elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Alvin. She loved music and enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed playing in her bridge club and loved spending time with her long time friends. Last but not least, she had a big love for cats and a bigger love for Hershey Kisses with almonds.
Alice is survived by her sons, Gene Hagood and wife Misty of Houston, Texas, and Gerry Hagood and wife Sherry of Alvin, Texas; grandchildren, Nicole Hagood, Austin Hagood, Ryan Hagood, Brandon Hagood, Caylin Falcon, and Presley De Forest; great-grandchildren, Justin Nathaniel Hagood; and many family members and friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church of Alvin, 302 S. Johnson St, Alvin, Texas 77511 with Rev. Mark Cooper officiating, with burial to follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.
