The Citadel, Class of 1931. Assigned to the 38th Infantry Regiment, 2d Division; killed while crossing the Rhine River near Koblenz, Germany. Before the war he had been a manager with the Glenwood cotton mill in his hometown of Easley, South Carolina. Survived by his wife Dorothy (Grogan), children Starke and Albert Jr.
