HAGGARD, U.S. NAVY CAPTAIN (RET.), H. FRANK, was born February 1, 1929 in Gadsden, Alabama. He died Monday evening, October, 22, 2012, at The Hermitage in Alexandria, VA after a prolonged struggle with pneumonia.

From his early days playing football in high school in Attalla, AL, to his Seniors Softball league in his early 70s, he was an avid sportsman. Professionally, he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in June 1952 and served in the Supply Corps for 13 years, then transferred to civilian service. He retired from GSA in late 1985. Personally, in June 1952, he married Gloria L. Kent of Philadelphia, PA and together raised five children. Thirteen years after the amiable split he married his second wife, Barbara J. Spadetti of Arlington, VA. They enjoyed four short years together until he lost her to cancer.

He is survived by his five children, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as his current wife, Sunny Rosse Haggard. In addition to his love of bowling, poker, softball, fishing, camping, watching and reading about all sports, he was always a generous person to all who knew him and had an amazing singing voice. He loved nothing more than to gather the family and have a picnic outdoors, or treat everyone to a fancy, festive meal.

Memorial service will be at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Alexandria, VA on November 3rd at 1 pm. Interment at a later date Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd. Arlington, VA
