FLORENCE BELL HABKIRK (Buchanan)
Following a short illness, Florence Bell Habkirk, 75, of Kinsmen Kourts, at Neepawa Memorial Hospital, April 28, 1983.
Funeral services were held May 2, 1983, from Neepawa, United Church, with Rev. Jack White officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa. Pallbearers were Arthur McLaughlin, Bob McLaughlin, Max Buchanan, Terry Buchanan, Bryon Scott and Roy Kilburn.
Mrs. Habkirk was born at Rosedale Municipality April 30, 1907 and received her education at Mountain View
School. She lived in Rosedale until her marriage to Wm. Maurice Habkirk in 1935, when she moved to Osprey district. She resided there until retiring in 1966.
Her marriage to William Maurice Habkirk was held October 15,1935 at Forrest, Manitoba. She was a member of the United Church of Canada and the Osprey Woman's Institute. She is survived by son, Ronald James and wife, Helen of Winnipeg, daughters, Donna Strong and husband, Keith of Winnipeg; Lois MacDuff and husband Bob of.Edmonton, and Betty Habkirk of Kamloops, B.C.; grandchildren, Brent and Lori MacDuff of Edmonton and granddaughter Colleen Habkirk of Winnipeg. Mrs. Habkirk was predeceased by her husband William Maurice Habkirk March 17, 1982; brothers Robbie Buchanan, 1911; Weldon Buchanan, 1980 and Sanford Buchanan, 1983; sisters, Essie Smith, 1954; Beatrice Fenwick, 1957; Lucie [Lucy] Coulter, 1965, Flossie Scott (twin sister) 1971; Ida Holmes 1972; Nellie McLaughlin, 1981, father Robert Buchanan, 1927; and mother Elizabeth Buchanan, 1937.
