Son of Johann Friedrich Haas and Maria Katharina Kuch( both buried at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Elk Prairie, Phelps County, Missouri).

Moved to Elk Prairie area, Phelps County, Missouri in 1875 with parents.

Married to Anna Cecelia Strauss, on 01/19/1888, in Phelps County, Missouri. They had eight children. Anna died 01/22/1902.

He then married Clara Elnora Luzetta Gahr, on 09/17/1903, in Phelps County, Missouri. They had two children.
