Mrs. Gyllenhaal was born in Bryn Athyn, Pa. She was a member of the New Church of Glenview.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte (Michael) Gyllenhaal Huft and Connie (Willard) Smith; two sons, Eric (Gail Fisher) and Edward (Kirsten); and 15 grandchildren. Mrs. Gyllenhaal was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and her son Kurt (Duree.)
A memorial service was held April 24, at the New Church, Glenview. Interment was private. Memorial donations may be made to the Chicago Botanic Garden, 775, Dundee Road, Glencoe IL 60022.
