George was "Killed In Action" when his B-24, while on a mission to Brunswick, Germany, were attacked by German fighters and crashed near Erichshagen, Germany during the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
His remains were found in 2002 and he was repatriated here on November 18, 2002.
