Edith L. FORNEY
Edith L. FORNEY, 93, of 205 W. Briggs Ave., died at 12:14 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Fran Griffeth officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Open visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday morning at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or Jefferson County Hospital Lifeline.
Mrs. FORNEY was born Dec. 18, 1906, in Fairfield, the daughter of Jonas Alexander and and Ada Ann LANPHEAR GURWELL. She married Elmer Earl FORNEY July 21, 1923, in Fairfield. He died Jan. 15, 1986.
Mrs. FORNEY was a lifetime resident of Jefferson County where she had been a homemaker. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, White Shrine, and a 50-year member of Eastern Star.
Survivors include one daughter, Maxine AVERY of Fairfield; one grandson; two great-granddaughters; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.
