Born Aug. 28, 1911, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late John and Eva Melnick.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Philip Adam Kiss and Chester Gumley.
She had been housemother at the former New Castle Business College. More recently, she was a volunteer at a nursing home in Costa Mesa, Calif.
She was a member of St. Michael Church of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in New Castle, and of St. Kilians Church in Mission Viejo, Calif.
Survivors include five daughters, Diane Cavaricci of Laguna Hills, Janice Williams of Las Vegas, Norma Vespo of Valpariso, Ind., and Virginia Janovick and Mary Lou Myers, both of New Castle; a son, Adam Kiss of Riverside, Calif.; a brother, Frank Melnick of Orange County, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Kiss; four brothers, Pete Melnick, George Melnick, Steve Melnick and Jim Melnick; and a sister, Mary Woods.
Calling hours were Sunday at the O'Connor Laguna Hills (Calif.) Mortuary.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at St. Kilians Church in California. A Memorial Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Church. The Rev. Benedetto Vaghetto of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will officiate.
Burial was in Ascension Cemetery, Laguna Hills.
Local arrangements are by the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 S. Mill St.
