1948-2012

Joseph "Mike" Guardado, 64, St. Joseph, passed away, Friday, July 13, 2012, at Heartland Hospital.
He was born on February 19, 1948, to Pedro and Josephine (Lopez) Guardado.
Mike married Lynette Bundy on December 31, 1988. She survives of the home.
Mike was an IBEW Electrician in St. Joseph until he went to work for General Motors at Fairfax in Kansas, retiring January 1, 2011.
Mike was a member of Knights of Columbus #5067, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Moila Shrine, Key Stone Cops of Moila, and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where he and Lynette were hospitality servers.
He served in the Army from 1968 to 1970, serving at Fort Holabird, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Louis and Pedro "Pete" Guardado; and infant sister, Kathy.
Also surviving Lynette; daughter, Ashley (Matt) Thrasher; son, Brandon (Erin) Guardado; step-son, Derek (Rachel) Rush, all of St. Joseph; three granddaughters; and one grandson; brothers, Raymond (Janet), Robert (Barbara), Charles (Donna), Frank (Kris) and Albert (Debbie) Guardado; sisters, Juanita (Ralph) Cruz, Theresa (Gary) Westcott, Pauline Mejia, Carmen (Frank) Ellis, Delores Dyer, Anna (Ronald) Reno, Lupe (Warren) Sparks, and Maggie (Marty) Schnabel; and sisters-in-law, Patty and Deigh-Ann Guardado.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Private family Inurnment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, at a later date. Parish Rosary: 6 p.m. Monday, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Visitation will begin after 12 p.m. Monday, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
Mr. Guardado will be removed from our chapel at 4 p.m. Monday, to arrive at the church, where the family will receive friends following the Rosary until 8 p.m.
The family suggests Memorial Contributions to the American Cancer Society.
