Catherine "Kater" Gruich Dmitrovic, 78, of 2514 S. Third Street, Steelton, died Monday, September 6, 2004, in the Community General Osteopathic Hospital.

She was a graduate of Steelton High School and a retired purchasing agent for the PA Turnpike Commission.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Oberlin, where she served as church secretary for over 35 years, school teacher, choir member, and past president and member of The Mother's Club.

She was instrumental in the formation of the church's Junior Tamburitzans; a member of the Serbian National Federation and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the food pantry for Dauphin County.

She was the widow of Joseph Dmitrovic.

Surviving is one daughter, Karen Dmitrovic Lambrix, and her husband, Robert J. of Steelton; one son, Joseph E. Dmitrovic and his wife, Donna of Lower Swatara Twp.; one sister, Helen Goetz of Lower Paxton Twp.; and four grandchildren, Alyson, Robert, Christopher Lambrix and Joseph Robert Dmitrovic.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2004, at 11 a.m., in her church, with the Very Rev. Stavrofor, Srboljub Jockovich, her pastor officiating.

Burial will be in the Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin.

Viewings will be held on Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. in the Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second Street, Steelton, and on Friday, from 10 until 11 a.m., in the church. Pomen at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 601 South Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113.
