Adella was born of June 9, 1916 in Norwood, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Yaeck) Herrmann. She was baptized on July 2, 1916 at the Church of Peace in Norwood by Rev. Paul Quarder and confirmed on March 29, 1931 at the Church of Peace in Norwood by Rev. Otto Rapp. On June 8, 1944 Adella was united in marriage to Herman H. Gruenhagen at the Church of Peace in Norwood by Rev. Carl Zeyher.

Adella was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. She was a graduate from District 29 in Carver County on July 29, 1932. Some of her hobbies were embroidering, reading and word find puzzles. She enjoyed playing Solitaire and Kings in the Corner.

Adella passed away Wednesday August 12, 2009 at her home at The Harbor in Norwood Young America. A funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 17, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church in Benton Twp., Cologne, with Rev. Eric Zacharias officiating.

At her passing Adella was preceded in death by her husband Herman "Butch" Gruenhagen; son-in-law Alex Markgraf; father and mother Henry and Anna Herrmann; sisters Lorna Siewert, Geraldine Schmidt, Alice Belter, Lucille Mueller, Evangeline Perbix, and Anna Marie Jaekel; brother Griven Herrmann.
She was survived by brothers-in-law Harold Schmidt of Waconia, Orville Jaekel of North Carolina.
