Annie Grizzard, age 92, of Alabama Street, Carrollton, passed away Monday December 6, 2010. Mrs. Grizzard was born August 2, 1918 in Randolph County, Al.; to the late Luther Pope and Cordie Talley Pope, she was retired having worked for Sewell Manufacturing and the Ray Sewell Company as a supervisor, she was also a member of Eureka Baptist Church. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William C. Grizzard; sisters Verna Jordon; Ruby Windom and Willie Pitts; brothers Felton Pope and Vinyard Pope. Mrs. Grizzard was survived by two sons William Ray Grizzard of Carrollton, James Hershel & Pat Grizzard of Villa Rica; five grandchildren Jim Grizzard of Villisca, IA., Shane Grizzard of Carrollton, Debbie Lewis of Red Oak, IA., Bill Grizzard & Tammy Tolbert both of Carrollton; ten great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday December 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Milford Ballenger officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday December 10th from 1:00 PM till service hour.
