Born March 9, 1918 in Wichita Falls, Texas to William Jackson Grisham and Callie Sweeton Grisham, Ruth graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1935. She attended Gulf Park College for Women in Gulfport, Mississippi and Southern Methodist University in Dallas where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and modeled for Neiman Marcus.
Ruth lived in Dallas until 1962, when she moved back to Wichita Falls joining the Humble Oil Company to work in Human Resources. In 1966 Humble transferred her to Midland where she met the love of her life, Edwin Aldridge, Jr. whom she married September 5, 1971 in Fort Worth.
Ruth is survived by her beloved cousin, William A. Guest of Dallas. In their later years, Ruth and Ed became "Moms" and "Pops" to Cathy Anwyl of Dallas. They also, "adopted" the Lea Crump family of Midland who delighted Ruth and Ed with the honorific appellations of "Aunt Ruth" and "Uncle Aggie."
There will be a graveside service at Riverside Cemetery in Wichita Falls December 10th, 2013.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
