Mrs. Lydia Griffith, wife of George W. Griffith of 2909 Broad avenue, died at the Altoona hospital at 11:05 o'clock this morning from shock following an operation at the institution on Thursday, August 9. She was born at Mt. Savage, Maryland, April 11, 1868, the daughter of Joseph and Lydia Barnett, both deceased. She has been a resident of this city for the past forty years having been married in 1888. In addition to her husband she is survived by the following children: Robert J. and Mae C., both at home; Mrs. Edna B. Barnhill of this city, Samuel H., George A. and Marie, all at home. Two brothers, William Barnett of Huntingdon, W. Va., and James S. Barnett of Sandy Ridge, Pa., and a half sister, Mrs. Kate Sharp of Marietta, also survive. Mrs. Griffith was a member of the Broad Avenue Methodist church. The funeral service will be held Thursday.
