Betty Z. Griffis, 88, of Milford died Monday evening, January 25, 2016 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

She was born June 30, 1927 in Carbondale, West Virginia to Eugene and Eula (Robinson) Morris.

On March 4, 1947 she married Thomas R. Griffis in West Virginia. He died May 15, 2008.

She is survived by a son, David (Deborah) Griffis of, Elkhart; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Gloria Jane Mooney of Ohio and Virginia Phillips of West Virginia.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Griffis, Jr.; a daughter, Gloria Jane Byrd; and five sisters and two brothers.

Betty attended Montgomery High School in West Virginia. She was a homemaker and member of Grace Baptist Church, Bristol. She also worked for Sun Lite Trailers in the cabinet department before retiring in 1990.
