Joy Ann McElhanon 79, passed away on February 2, 2009 in Waxahachie, TX.
She was born on September 2, 1929 in Troy, Oklahoma to Alba & Nellie Griffin.
Joy was a longtime resident of Okolona, AR., she retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 30 years of service and was a member of the Okolona United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Hugh McElhanon, Parents, and Brother, David Griffin. She is survived by, Niece, Debbie Johnson and Husband, John of Waxahachie, TX., five great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:30p.m. to 8:30p.m., at Okolona United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 11:00a.m. at Okolona United Methodist Church.Interment to follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Okolona, AR.
