Ruby was a former healthcare worker and attended Faith Chapel in Texarkana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Smith, two daughters, Eloise Smith and Lessie Mae Whitworth, one son, James Henry Smith, Jr., one sister, Clara Ellington and two brothers, William Jesse (Bill) and Thomas Griffin.
Survivors are two sons, Paul Douglas (Barbara) Smith of Deer Park, TX and Randy Lynn (Cathy) Smith of Texarkana, AR; three daughters, Vickie Gail (Guen) Beard of Alexander, Barbara Myers of Gurdon, and Betty Jo Jones of Leery, TX; fourteen grandchildren, Terry and Tim Whitworth, Cyndi Kuehnle, Jimmy Smith, Brian, Sandra and Keith Jones, Amber Norman, Bobbie Purifoy, Chad and Chris Smith, Lyndell and Brandon Beard and Jason Smith; thirty-two great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren.
