Ruby Mae Smith, age 103, of Wake Village, TX, formerly of Gurdon, passed from this life on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Wadley Medical Center in Texarkana, TX.
She was born August 11, 1913 in Beirne, the daughter of the late Lester and Frances Lenora Curliss Griffin.
Ruby was a former healthcare worker and attended Faith Chapel in Texarkana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Smith, two daughters, Eloise Smith and Lessie Mae Whitworth, one son, James Henry Smith, Jr., one sister, Clara Ellington and two brothers, William Jesse (Bill) and Thomas Griffin.
Survivors are two sons, Paul Douglas (Barbara) Smith of Deer Park, TX and Randy Lynn (Cathy) Smith of Texarkana, AR; three daughters, Vickie Gail (Guen) Beard of Alexander, Barbara Myers of Gurdon, and Betty Jo Jones of Leery, TX; fourteen grandchildren, Terry and Tim Whitworth, Cyndi Kuehnle, Jimmy Smith, Brian, Sandra and Keith Jones, Amber Norman, Bobbie Purifoy, Chad and Chris Smith, Lyndell and Brandon Beard and Jason Smith; thirty-two great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren.
