Romeo H. Griego, 68, passed away on December 17, 2007. Mr. Griego was born on April 18, 1939 in Bernalillo, NM to Antonio and Eliza Griego. He was a lifetime resident of Bernalillo and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed with the New Mexico Highway Department for 25 years. His life passion was fishing, gardening, farming and winemaking. He was an avid treasure hunter with his metal detector, an environmentalist and recycler. He was a jack of all trades, as well as being very knowledgeable about repairing pumps. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nadine Neyda Griego; his children, Renee and partner, Mark Garcia, Carlos Romeo, Lisa and James, all of Bernalillo; siblings, James and Michelle; sisters, Madeline Tapia and fiance, Ricardo-Gonzales of Rio Rancho, Evangeline Tapia and husband, Eloy, of Bernalillo, Della Potwora and husband, Bill, of Tempe, AZ, Erlinda Lovato and husband, Tivo, of Bernalillo, Genevieve Sisneros and husband, Tony, of Santa Fe, and Sandra Martinez and husband, Ray, of Santa Fe; sister-in-law, Carmen Griego; and many other relatives. A Rosary will be recited at 12:15 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows in Bernalillo on Thursday, December 20, 2007, with Mass at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Bernalillo. Pallbearers will be Angelo Tapia, Robert Griego, Ralph Tapia, Gilbert Dominguez, Jr., Paul Ce De Baca, and Preslee Dominguez.
