Tarsila Griego, age 79 passed away peacefully in her home in Albuquerque, surrounded by her loving family on May 26, 2013.
Tarsila was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers and one sister. Tarsila is survived by her beloved husband of 58 1/2 years, Isaac Roy Griego, daughters, Catherine Hernández and her husband, Johnny, Cynthia Griego, Suzanne Slenes and her husband, John and Caroline Jehle and her husband, Lawrence, grandchildren, Nicole García and her husband, Matthew, Stephen, Lauren and Megan Jehle, great-grandchildren, Brandon and Ashleigh García. Tarsila is also survived by her two sisters, Sophie Gurulé and Rosie Chávez and one sister-in-law, Nancy Frésquez and many nieces and nephews.
Tarsila graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1952, she worked over twenty years with the Social Security Administration and was an active member of her church for her entire life.
Tarsila was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at French – Lomas followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. Interment will follow the services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
