Shirley Grider Braman, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Fair Oaks Nursing Home.

She was born in Russell County on July 3, 1918 to the late Mary Roy Grider and Silas Green Grider.

She was the widow of the late Andrew Berton Braman.

Along with her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Leslie Dell Dysard; a son-in-law, Michael Dysard; a grandson, Paul Dysard; one sister, Alene Shepard; and two brothers, Veston Grider and Gwendolyn Grider.

She is survived by five children Robert (Edna ) Braman, Alabama; Andrew B. (Karen) Braman, Jr., Wisconsin; Mary Braman, Florida; William Vance (Evelyn) Braman, Georgia; and Gail (Leston) Gosser, Russell Springs; one sister-in-law Marie Grider of Russell Springs; two sisters Martha Lawrence and Doris Wariner both of Jamestown; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Braman was a homemaker and a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 29, 2010 at Bernard Funeral Home. Clergy officiating was Rev. Jeff Griffin with burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Special musicwas provided by Angela Emerson and Jeff Hubbard. Pallbearers were children and grandchildren.

Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
