Evelyn Beaver was born about 1879 in Indian territory (now Oklahoma). She was a member of the Peoria tribe (U.S. Indian Census Rolls).Evelyn was the daughter of John Beaver, the son of Yellow Beaver, a Wea Indian. Her grandfather Beaver served as the chief of the Confederated Tribes of Peorias, Weas, Piankashaws, and Kaskaskiaswas, known as the "Peoria tribe" Her father and her uncle Frank Beaver as also served as chief of the tribe. It was reported that Evelyn's mother was also Indian.

Evelyn was a graduate of the Haskell institute.

Evelyn Beaver of Miami, Indian Territory (now Ottawa County, Oklahoma), married Elwood Hawthorne Greer of Pleasant Hill, Cass County, Missouri, on 28 Mar 1901, at the courthouse, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. News articles reported that the 23 year old ran off with Mr. Greer, a 35 year old man. Mr. Greer, a native of Kentucky, was the son of the late George Greer and Anna Hawthorne Greer. He was the stepson of the late Dr. W. H. Cundiff of Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Evelyn died of peritonitis on 19 Jul 1901 at her home, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. She was laid to rest in the Elmwood Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. According to F.A.G. memorials, Elwood Ernest Greer was laid to rest in the same cemetery lot on the same month of Evelyn's death, Jul 1901. No additional records were found for Elwood E., but most likely he was the infant son of Evelyn and Elwood H. Greer.
