Daughter of the late Eugene and Edith Owen Greenwood, she was born August 22, 1929 in Alma, Mich. and was a graduate of the Central Michigan University, Class of 1951 and received her Masters Degree in M.A.L.S. at the University of Michigan.
Mrs. Carman was a media specialist for the Milford Board of Education for 22 years, most of which was spent at Live Oaks School, until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Milford and treasurer of the Episcopal Church Women, member of the Lucia Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and was also a member of the Indian River Grange Patrons of Husbandry. She belonged to the Pyremus Temple Daughters of the Nile and the Stratford Chapter Order of Amaranth. She was a member of the Milford Center Citizens and its Retired Professional Women's Club and Gospel Choir and member of the Greater Bridgeport Area, New Haven, and the CT State Retired Teacher Associations, and the AARP Milford Chapter. She also volunteered at the Woodmont Library.
She was predeceased by five brothers.
