Bonnie L. Fontenot, 52, of Jacksonville, FL, died Monday, April 7, 2014. Born August 31, 1961 at Huntingdon, PA, she was a daughter of Edwin & Helen (Runk) Greenland who survive of RD, Three Springs, PA. She was married for 21 years to Michael Fontenot who survives at their home. Also surviving are two children, Jacinda Hasley and her husband Matthew Simonds of Leesburg, FL and Matthew Fontenot of Jacksonville, FL, who is currently serving in the U. S. Navy. She is also survived by her twin brothers: Randy Greenland and his wife Lori of Dry Run, PA, and Ronald Greenland and his wife Cindy of Liverpool, PA; and three nephews: Jeremiah Greenland and his wife Becky, Joshua Greenland and Zachary Greenland; two great nephews: Clay Greenland and Mason Greenland; and one great niece, Jolene Greenland. Mrs. Fontenot proudly served in the U. S. Navy for 12 years where she achieved the rank of E-7. She also received the Navy Achievement Award, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. She was very active in the community where she worked with nursing homes, dog parks and other community activities. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Cherry Grove Church of God, RD, Three Springs, PA with Pastor James Lynn officiating. Interment will be made at Cherry Grove Cemetery, RD, Three Springs, PA. Friends may call at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA at 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society.
