Ethel S. Greenhaw

Funeral arrangements for Ethel Simpson Greenhaw, 93, of Athens will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Don Osborne and Warren Glass officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery.
Mrs. Greenhaw died June 26 at her residence.
She was born October 23, 1907 in Limestone County to John Hundley Simpson and Susan Regina Hardy Simpson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ at New Hope.
Mrs. Greenhaw was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Atha Greenhaw and one son, Gilbert Greenhaw.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Elmore, Clara Lewis and Mildred Beddingfield, all of Athens; one son, David Greenhaw and sister-in-law, Alma Dean Greenhaw, both of Athens; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Barry Greenhaw, Tommy Elmore, Michael Lewis, Mark Beddingfield, Brad Greenhaw and Greg Greenhaw.

She was also survived by a beloved niece, Rheta Simpson Russell of Kaufman, TX, whom she and her husband Atha raised.
She died at her daughter Mary's home, not at her residence, and Alma Dean Greenhaw was her daughter-in-law, not sister-in-law.
