Thelma Opal Schaal, of Monticello, was born on July 3rd, 1919 in Nancy, Kentucky to Clayton and Mittie Greenarch.

At the age of 95, she passed away December 8, 2014 surrounded by family in her home.

Surviving are two daughters Marcia Meador (Ron) of Florida and Angie Muse (Tom) of Monticello, a sister Margaret Summers, and a brother Orville Greenarch. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Jodi Wisehart, Wyatt Muse (Ashley), Jesse Muse (Annie), Tucker Muse (Morgen), 4 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, Connie Morris and Charlie Magos her longtime friends and partners in crime.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, her parents, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters. Thelma was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Over the years she was a welder, a school cook, and retired at the age of 82 after 22 years at 4-H Memorial Camp. Thelma loved the outdoors, spending time with her family and friends and going anywhere the wind would blow her. Throughout her 95 years she touched many lives with her kind heart and feisty spirit. She was a Mammo and Nano to all.

Visitation will be 5-7 P.M.Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church in Monticello, Illinois Old Route 47.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. December 12, 2014 at the Christ Lutheran Church Monticello.

Burial will be at Bement Cemetery, Bement, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Faith in Action.
