Edna 'Morleen' Arnold, age 74, a resident of Russellville, AR , formerly of Danville, AR & Dimmitt, TX, died Friday, July 21, 2000 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center at Russellville, AR. She was born on November 13, 1925 at Dimmitt, TX, to Richard and Bertha Dowell Greathouse. She served as secretary at First Baptist Church at Danville for 30 Years.
She was the widow of the late Lilburn Arnold, and was also preceded in death by her Parents.
She was a graduate of Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX and West Texas University in Canyon, TX. She helped with the Danville Meals on Wheels, the ATU Baptist Student Union, and also served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs, and the American Legion. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Danville for 36 years & Second Baptist of Russellville for the past two years.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Arnold of Plainview and Lynda Housley of Russellville; three grandchildren, Kay and Perry Roberson of Russellville, Angela Matheson and Donald Hinman of Russellville, Blake Matheson of Russellville; two great grandchildren, Cameron Newsted of Russellville, Morgan Frazier of Russellville; one brother, Earl Greathouse of Honolulu; two sisters, Elouise Kirklen of Lewisville, Fayrene Easley of Brady; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2000 at the First Baptist Church of Danville officiated by Brother Bobby Walker. Burial will be in the Earl Ladd Cemetery at Danville, AR under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
