HOMER W. GRAY
SEDGWICK - Homer W. Gray, 82, died Nov. 22, 2002, at Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. He was born June 30, 1920, in Punxsutawney, Pa., the son of Norman B. and Hulda (Wood) Gray. Homer graduated from Sedgwick High School in 1939, and worked for Captain Boyd Guild around the waterfront and Castine. During World War II, he went to sea in the Merchant Marine Service. He worked his way up on the ships from oiler to engineer, obtaining an unlimited first engineer's license. He worked in many power plants in the area before retiring in 1980. He was a 49-year member of the Blue Hill Masonic Lodge. He loved to hunt and fish. Homer was a life member of the National Rifle Association and the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine. He was a staunch supporter of the second amendment of the United States Constitution. He is survived by one son, George N. Gray and his wife, Katrina of South Berwick; four grandchildren, Kelly Allen, Joel Wilson, Chelsea and Lindsey Gray. He was predeceased by his wife, Elise (Allen) Gray; and a daughter, Janis Wilson. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at the Sargentville Chapel, Sedgwick, with Elder Gary Wilson officiating. Friends may make donations in Homer's memory to Birdsacre Sanctuary, P.O. Box 485, Ellsworth, ME 04605. Arrangements by Healey Funeral Home, South Street, Blue Hill.
