Fredrick B. Gray, age 84, of North East since 1960, died Friday August 20, 2010 at St. Mary's Home in Erie. He was born on April 23, 1926 in Wilton, Conn. to the late Fredrick B. Gray Sr. and Anna Eva Brown Gray Howland. He was formerly employed at Welch Foods in North East for 30 years, retiring in 1982. Fred was a veteran of WW II, serving in United States Army and as an engineer and military policeman. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty Jane McDonald Gray who he married June 3, 1950. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews who Fred and Betty condsidered as their children. He is also survived by his brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street North East on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating Rev. Dr. Mark Hecht. Interment Quincy Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Erie Unit, 2115 West 38th St. Erie, PA 16508.
