Janet Danyluk, 79, died April 3, 2012, at the Hospice House in Hutchnson, after a battle with heart disease. She was born July 16, 1932, in Galva, Kan., to Sidney Ulysses Grant and Lois Janice (Dielman) Grant.
Janet graduated from Galva High School and Brown Mackie Business College in Salina, Kan.
While working in Denver, Colo., she met the love of her life, Lee Danyluk.
They were married June 1, 1952, and settled in the heart of Kansas where Janet worked as a typesetter and proofreader for the Lyons Daily News. Janet was a member of the United Methodist Church and Church Choir.
She was also a member of the Lyons Town and Country Club and an accomplished Bridge player. Janet was fun, kind, and outgoing.
She had the ability to bring out the best in everyone she met.
The needs of the family and friends were of her foremost concern.
She was a loving wife, mother, and friend.
Because of the compassionate care given by the nurses, staff and volunteers at the Hospice House and Hospice and Homecare of Reno County the family asks that Memorials go to Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, in care of the funeral home.
Janet is survived by her children, sons, Kent Danyluk of Sterling and Kelly Danyluk of Hutchinson; daughters, Kate Danyluk and husband John Larsen of Anchorage, and Kerri Danyluk of Sterling; sister, Sue Rierson of McPherson; and grandchildren, Danielle Sauer of Denver, Elliott Larsen and Avery Larsen of Anchorage, and Parker Danyluk and Pryce Danyluk of Hutchinson.
Open casket visitation will be held at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, Thursday, April 5, 2012, from 2 to 5 p.m. Family will not be present.
Open Casket visitation will also be held prior to the 10:30 a.m. service Friday, April 6, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Lyons with Reverend Quentin Bennett officiating.
