Gerald served as a Technician Fifth Grade, 43rd Tank Battalion, 12th Armored Division, U.S. Army during World War II.
He resided in Greene County, New York prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Army on October 12, 1942 in Albany, New York. He was noted, at the time of the enlistment, as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Married.
Gerald was declared "Missing In Action" during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Gerald's remains were recovered in 1962 from a private cemetery in the little town of Herlisheim, France and he is now interred in the Maplewood Cemetery in Greene County, New York!
