Mrs. Hudson was born on October 15, 1917 in Nanafalia, Ala., daughter of Robert Ray and Ida Mae Swanner Grantham. She married Elmer V. Hudson on June 15, 1940 in Boyle, Miss. He preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 2005.
She moved to Mississippi with her family when she was a child. As a child of the Depression, she learned to be frugal and resourceful. Julia was involved with her church in Houston and worked in VBS every summer. Julia and Elmer retired to Denison in 1989.
She instilled fundamental values in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her friends. Although her family will miss her, we will strive to carry on the legacy she has taught us of serving God and having a strong family unit that sticks together.
