Carle Evans Graham, 76, of Lubbock died Jan. 8, 2011. She was born March 31, 1934, in Franklin County, Ark., at home to Edward Francis Evans and Jewell Phabris Buckner Evans.

She married Stanley James Graham on Sept. 24, 1967, in Chihuahua, Mexico. She attended school in Shallowater, graduating from Shallowater High School in 1951. She worked as a PBX operator for over 20 years at Southwestern Bell. She took several years off to care for her family. She returned to work at TTUHSC, where she worked for another 20 years. She retired in 1997 to care for her grandchildren.
She loved to play with her grandkids and would neglect household duties to spend time playing games, watching movies or reading to her grandson and granddaughter. She loved to bake and make desserts. She also loved sewing and crafts.

Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Rankin; siblings, Phyllis Peters of Lubbock, Donna Brazell of Lubbock, Norma Burt of Anton, Charles Evans of Garland and Jackie Kjosa of Shallowater; and grandchildren, Tienert and Kelsey Kelley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Graham.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Ken Horn officiating.
