Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept 24 at the Presbyterian church at 2:30, for Mrs. Thos. Gowler, well-known Lynch business owners of the early days.

Caroline Matilda Ericksen was born at Harding, Nebr., November 30, 1887, and died Sept. 21, 1934 at her home in Mission, S.D., at the age of 47 years, 9 months and 21 days.

She moved to Boyd county with her parents in the early days and graduated from the Spencer High School. At the age of 18 she joined the Congregational church where she was a faithful member until her death. She was married to Thomas J. Gowler in 1909 at Fairfax, S.D. They resided at Lynch until 1926 when they moved to Mission, S.D.

To this union was born six children, one preceding her in death. She leaves to mourn her husband, five children, who are Cliff and Louis of Mission, S.D. and Mrs. Margaret Hemmingston of Plainview. [sic] She leaves her mother of Bristow and two sisters, one of Bristow and one of Harding, four step children, John Gowler of Valentine, George of Mission, Mrs. Tennesee Lesinger of Plainview and Tom Gowler of Lynch.
