Mrs. Alice Ann Goul Dead

Mrs. Alice Ann Goul, 65, a resident of Cherokee for the past 35 years, died at her home at 1:50 o'clock Monday afternoon. She was taken to her home last Thursday from the hospital where she was confined three weeks. She had been ill six weeks.

Mrs. Goul was born June 5, 1879 in Wigam, Lancashire, England and came with her parents to the United States at the age of seven, settling first in Alabama. Later the family moved to Tennessee and then to Weir. A membership was held with the Catholic church at Cherokee.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Pete Grist, Baytown, Texas; two sons, Francis Goul of the home; A.M. Goul of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, R.M. Goodman of Clearwater, Fla., and James Goodman of Henryetta, Okla.

Funeral services were held at the St. Anastasia Catholic church on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock with Father Mohr in charge. The pall bearers were Dr. A.D. Hays, George Blackett, Frank Ascanio, Sam and Tony Reda and Harry B. Price. Mrs. Sadie Curry sang a solo accompanied by Mrs. Fred lampton. A trio composed of Mrs. Baptiste Castagno, Mrs. Frank Ascanio and Miss Anna Naccarato also sang. Interment was in the Cherokee cemetery.
