Don Houston Gore, 74, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 after a long battle with Parkinson's and Lewy Bodies Disease.

Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 First Presbyterian Church, 1200 S. Collins St Texas, Arlington, Texas. Interment: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, Texas. The family will receive friends 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis, Arlington, Texas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc., 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA 30047 or First Presbyterian Church Arlington (Youth), 1200 S. Collins St., Arlington, Texas 76010. Don was born June 20, 1937 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Basil and Leola Gore. He grew up in Corpus, graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1955 and graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Education in 1961. He received his Master's in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University. In 1961 he married Jane Saunders. They had two daughters, Susan and Saundra and one son, Kyle. Don's career in education started with teaching & coaching and finished with his being Vice President of Product Research and Development, Educational Publishing Group of McGraw-Hill Book Company, where he retired in 2002. Don was active in all of his children's sports booster clubs and served as a coach for many of their youth sports teams. He valued his faith and served as a Deacon in Dutch Neck Presbyterian in Princeton Junction, New Jersey and in First Presbyterian Church, Arlington. Don was a very loyal TCU alumni and TCU Clark Society Member. Don was proud that all three of his children and his son-in-law are TCU graduates and are loyal horned frog fans. Don was fun loving, hardworking, competitive, and loyal. He loved his family, friends and life. His young grandchildren, Case, Ali and Chad brought him great joy during the last ten years and Maggie and Dan were a source of pride. Don was blessed with caring aides during his illness.

Survivors: Wife of 50 years, Jane Saunders Gore; daughters, Susan and husband, Ryan Burdeno of New York, New York and Saundra and husband, Scott Savage of Dallas, Texas; son, Kyle and wife, Annette of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren, Case, Alison, and Chad Savage, Maggie and Dan Burdeno; brother Rev. Dale Gore and wife, La Verne; sisters, Sue Ann and husband, Hank Roesing and Janice Gore Thomas; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews
