ANGELINE GORDON
DIES, AGED 72
Mrs. Angeline Gordon, 72, died this morning at her home, 406 South Alameda, and funeral arrangements are pending at the West Funeral Home.
Known as "Grandmother Hill" to her many white and Negro friends, Mrs. Gordon had lived in Carlsbad for 20 years and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was born March 10, 1879, in Henderson County, Tex.
Survivors include a son, Nathan Hill of Carlsbad; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Blackmon of Galveston; and a granddaughter, Mrs. Viola Emtage, of New York City.

Funeral services for Mrs. Angeline Hill Gordon, who died Wednesday at her home, 406 South Alameda, at the age of 72, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the New San Jose Church of Christ.
The Rev. Clifton Thomas will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Alfred H. Baker, Ray Hardwick, Sam Perry, Tony Giddens, Henry Burton and James Bryson. Burial will follow in the Carlsbad Cemetery.
